got ran over
« on: October 09, 2009, 08:40:48 PM »
Well I went out yote hunting tonight. I made a stand that ended up dry so I moved up the road a mile and pulled over to look and saw an elk cape so I started out to make one last stand. I set up one draw over on the edge of the heavy brush. I was there tell dark and right at the last I figured I would try pup distres. Well I hear something come fast and then bam the damn coyote runs into me :o. As Im trying to gather myself and look for the yote I hit the caller button and see the coyote stop 100yds out and look at me, I pulled up my AR and can barly see him but manage a head shot.  :IBCOOL:

I dunno if they're protective little buggers or willing to eat their own!

Are you saying you use a shotgun for yotes? I am asking because that is all we are allowed to use on Fort Lewis, and I never thought they would come in that close??

Winchester actually has a newer shot gun load called dead coyote or dog or something like that. supposed to be good out to 70 yards. but i dont know first hand
