Ya, wish I knew how to catch fish. Maybe someday I will learn how. Just try'n to be cool with you. Like I said I don't care and think it's stupid law but I know for a fact people have been tracked down and give tickets. Most guys will leave part of the fish in the water like a corner of the tail or something.

If i don't intend to keep it i don't take it out of the water... Pics like that piss me off. I fish the washougal and have for 25 years, there used to be a ton of fish like that, now not so much.
I have caught 20 pound steelhead and they are awesome but i don't need to show it off to the world to feel good about myself. If that is what fishing is to you maybe you need to rethink the reason you fish.
And the reason they have the rule about removing native fish from the water is to reduce the stress on them because the more they are handled and the longer they are out of the water the less chance they have for survival.

pics don't hurt fish. But rolling in sand and trying to get a hold of them when they are flopping around out of the water KILLS them. It might swim away but the fact is they will grow fungi and it kills them before they can spawn.

After looking at that fish closer it sure looks like alot of sand. But I've never caught a steelhead so what do I know?

Pics do not hurt fish, people taking them do.... Summer run fish as dark as that have been in the river a while. Just try to be careful with 20 pound native steelhead, need those genes in the river.
