454 Bears
« on: December 30, 2007, 03:18:35 PM »
Anyone know of some good spots in 454 where a guy might start looking to get a bear.  I'm going to have very limited time this year and would like to get a bear this year but will more than likely have to do it on an evening or morning type hunt or on the weekends.  Not looking for anyone's honey holes, just a few places to start looking at and getting familiar with.

I'd check the snoqualmie tree farm its in GMU 460 but is just as close as 454.  Tons and tons of big bears in the farm :dunno:

When the berries get ripe look for sign. It will be obvious when you see it. The dirt road off hwy 18 idea is good advice. You may have to use a bow or muzzle loader on the North side of hwy 18 if that's where you want to be. Stampede also is a good bet just a little further for you to drive. Or just open your back door ;)

my dad has finally seen a couple bears up in the tree farm after 30+ years hunting up there. and both of them were very big.

i have yet to see one up there, ive been up there for 22yrs (sence i was born) but i see cougars up there almost every year.

and there is constantly bear shiat on the roads when you get in the lower elevation. around the griffin creek gate. down towards the snoqualmie main river.
