State Law For shooting near houses

Does anyone know offhand the rules for shooting near houses?  We've got a few bucks coming into our apple trees every night and only have five acres.  We are in a semi residential area, not in the city limits and there are no county ordinances that I know of restricting shooting.  Is the state rule 500ft from residences? 
Coming down the last day & am considering having my wife take one of the bucks.

Check the regs first. If you can't find it there then check the county ordinances. The counties will normally defer to the game department guidelines in this situation. That is how it is where I live.

I just looked up an article a few days ago about Bainbridge Island. The article states it is legal to use shotgun, muzzleloader, archery, and it may have even been legal for some pistols. Most residents of Bainbridge don't even know that and when they see somebody hunting, they freek out and call the law.

I would bet the cops don't know for sure either. I would double check with at least two agencies.
We called in someone hunting with a high powered rifle near our home in the city limits.
Lots of officers showed up and none knew if it was illegal to hunt  or just to discharge a weapon within the city limits. They had to wait for the on duty Sargent to show. He didn't know either.

Common sense should be used.  Someone may hear you shoot so be prepared to answer questions.

county will tell ya ,as stated before watch your back stop they will check that..Myself and my neighbor shoot sometimes in our yard,one neighbor freaks out, but, well they moved. the sheriff will come and look at the situation..Dont tell anyone but they might even shoot your muzzleloader..

With a last name of Gunkel, you about have to be related to the old sheriff.  That's a good place to start.  I wish I knew the answer, but I'm no help.  Would they happen to be the bucks in the live/dead mixed orchard on 5 acres in the Heights that the old lady won't let anyone hunt on?

i would like to know this as well , i live in unicorp. king in maple valley , on 3.5 acres , with about 14 acres unused behind my house all trees forest , but i have several neighbors around me , i shot my 16 guage once here and that was about it , one of my neighbors said its ok , but he said depends on how many other neighbors call it in

i think as long as you arent in a no shooting xone you should be fine. might be wrong though. i have seen animals shot out of windows of houses and all was good.

Make sure all your neighborhoods arent TREE-HUGGER.

i would use a muzzleloader if you can find one but if you are on you property and not in city limts it should be o.k. but i would really check and make sure its o.k.

thats what im thinking , i have seen some blacktail on my property  and some scrapes , im waiting for the big boy to come through only problem is my damn yellow lab barks at everything my black lab stays quiet

deer still come no matter if you have dogs or not at least at place they do , but when he sees them or hears them he barks them away , i find fresh elk and deer poop all the time , i have seen several big bulls here

Crossbows are legal with a disabled permit in WA.
