tree stand Help,

Im in the market for a tree stand.  Ive looked at the tree lounge, Cabelas brands, and the loggy bayou's.  Any input would help

i used a tree lounge this year with the extra archery step on it for archer elk in oregon. it was by far the most comfortable hunting i have done.  It is also pretty ambidextrius when it comes to tree shapes and sizes that you can use.  then there are all those extra goodies you can put on them. like game cart wheels. windstopper blind. or the angle adjuster for going up real high in the tree.

but mainly comfy comfy comfy and easy to use once you know how its done.

I use a Summit Backpacker treestand. I love it as it is easy to use,relatively light weight for packing into some places. Its a whole different world hunting out of a treestand.

gues thats another cool thing bout the tree lounge. you wont fall out while your sleeping.

I say that theres tons of good choices and brands... my 2 cents

get a climber
get one with a cable not a blade or chains
get one that has sling seat
get one that has the wrap around bar that 1. keeps u in if u fall asleep  2. u sit on facing the tree while ur climbing.

weight is an issue. Most models will have similar attributes with minor differences between size of platform ect. but the weight is a factor that can change. in outdoorsportsman.com or walmart you can get a cable climber with sling seat and wrap around bar... but they weigh damn near 30 pounds...but cost like 80$
I say, a good comfortable climber with the list above should weigh around 22 pounds...maybe less. but expect to pay 230-310$.

the summit viper ss is probably gonna be my next treestand

I currently use a 10 year old API Grand Slam Supreme with very similar numbers and design.

thats my 2 cents but Ive been a 95% treestand hunter for 12 years.

Not really like this but i sort of coppy cat other styles. Heavier but sturdy and safe. most the time cheaper.....

I use a summit viper XL, (own 2 of them) and absolutely love it.  Very comfortable, easy to set up and light when packing it, I believe it weighs in at 22lbs.  I have used a tree lounge, probably been 8 years ago, and it is as comfortable as your lazy boy at home, but also just as expensive and heavy as your lazy boy at home as well.

I have used an API Grandslam Super Mag for many years and wouldn't trade it for anything.  What I don't like about the Treelounges is that they sit so far away from the tree.  I like to be close to the tree so my silhouette is broken up more.

The lighter the better for me. I own two, identical. I hunt the same ridge in Stevens County every year and they are both stashed there in a plastic garbage bag until next year. I don't hunt the same stand for more than six hours and I like to be able to move them readily, with a minimum of noise.

I use screw in tree steps and get them at least 24' high, usually 30'. With a little practice, you'd be amazed at how quickly you can get them up. Mine strap right on to my backpack. I've had them so long, I forget the brand. Wear a safety strap.
