AHE Toledo elk tag?
« on: November 05, 2009, 12:59:40 PM »
I was wondering if anyone here has drawn the AHE Toledo any elk tag before? If so, what are your thoughts on the area. My dad drew this tag and it runs from mid December until the end of the month. I am going to start researching it now and get a jump on things. I drew the green mt ahe cow tag a few years back, so i'm thinking this should be similar to it.

I know of a guy who drew that the first week of august and he shot a real nice bull.
There are alot of elk there and you have plenty of time to learn the area. :)

I drew the tag, for the first week in August last year.  Filled the tag on Day 1 with a big fat cow.

Dad is not too concerned if he shoots a bull or a cow, just wants some meat in the freezer.

Shouldnt be too hard to do.  I dont know what the elk are looking like in December but they were pretty easy to find in August.

If you draw the tag you get the weyerhauser gate codes and map, but you can walk in like I did and tag one.

I had that tag last year and didn't get the job done. Ended up only getting to hunt the last day due to work. Hunted hard all day, ran into a nice spike late in the day but he stepped into reprod before I could kill him. Tons of weyerhauser land to hunt. PM me if you want more info.
