Very nice sounds.
I got a response while using the Sub-adult whistle.  At the time I thought it was a dog (houses and dogs were close)...after listening to the Adult Female sound, Im not so sure.  It didnt sound exactly the same more of "hoot" than a "baying" sound.   :dunno:

A hoot is a dead giveaway! They make LOTS of sounds people don't realize are Cougar!

Not real sure what it was.  Like I said I thought it was a dog.  I would whistle, it would bark.  It did that three times and then nothing.   :dunno:

Do you have the tutorial? I put a version of a "Woof" on there. I've heard that in the timber (22 yards behind me) and WT has a great version of it for their callers.

carpsniperg2, I'm sure somebody could figure out how to do that with personal stereo equipment. I can't spend the time to make long loops and record them onto tapes. That's kind-of a labor of love! I'll sell you the CD though! :P

Impressive collection Steve! These sounds are very clean.

For those that want to put them on a cassette it would be very simple to copy and paste a loop in Audacity. Maybe I should do a tutorial.

Anyway.. great job Steve.

Do you have the tutorial? I put a version of a "Woof" on there. I've heard that in the timber (22 yards behind me) and WT has a great version of it for their callers.

I do have your tutorial.  What happened was I was walking up a road and spotted a doe up ahead.  I had been wondering how other animals would react to the sub-adult whistle because it doesn't sound very threatening.  I decided to give it a try on the doe.  I let out a whistle and she just perked up to see where the sound was coming from.  I was well hidden so I gave her another whistle.  She didnt seem to concerned but walk off the edge of the road.  That is when I heard the response.  It was really far away and sounded like a dog bark.  So I gave another whistle and it barked back.  Did it again, same thing.  One more time and no response.  Just figured it was a dog so I moved on.   Now Im wondering if it wasnt a cat answering and possibly headed my way.  You guys might be able to hear a major difference but to me some of the cougar sounds are very much like other animals.  The hoot and adult female sound really close to dogs sounds.  The sub-adult whistle sounds very birdy/rodent and sometime even like a young elk chirp to me.  I am sure I will get better at telling the difference now that I know what to listen for.  Saving my pennies again to buy the rest of your sounds probably wont be till after Christmas though.

The whistle is very much like a young elk chirp.

On the tutorial I don't introducethe male communicative sound, I just slip it in when I tell the story of the one 22 yards behind me. You'll hear the audio signature change real unexpectedly, and a chirpy "Woof" then the audio changes back and the story continues. It's quite doggie, only more rasp and huff with a little chirpy edge to it.

You can take a 1/8' stero cord and plug it into the headphone jack on a portable CD player and then into to audio in on a caller and play CD sounds through you caller.  I do it with my Foxpro 416, (we even set it up in the tent and run the portable DVD player through it and watch movies at night).  I haven't tried it with my M-1 Bandit, I have a Minaska amp that I use for CD and Cassette tapes.

AWS
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Make mine a Minaska

Down load from the internet or from a disc to your caller? I wonder why it would say they are dangerous.

Virus free, guaranteed! I burn then myself, individually.

It's probably something the Foxpro utility says about any third party sound file. Wish I had experience with FP, as I have lots of guys asking about how to program them...

Got my CD today.  Woohoo sounds are wicked awesome.  :rockin: Thanks Steve.  And thanks for the call is beautiful but the kiddo stole it.  She figured it was hers because it is small like her.   :dunno:  :chuckle:  Had an interesting moment with a bobcat today using the sub adult whistle and some purring MP3 I got off the internet.  I will do a write up later but lets just say bobcats do not like cougar sounds.
