That video was spectacular! That is hunting at its finest!
I was extremely impressed with what those eagles could do. I've felt the talons in my had but had no idea they could take down a big dog like that. Wow!

Yes its for sure a turkey vulture, they are all over North America. When I was a youngster there were none to be seen here. Like the raven, they used to be in the high mountains and now you see them down in the lower valleys!! I call them turkey vulters Mexican Eagles, they migrate to Mexico and South America every fall. They have feather fingers on the ends of their wings when the fly over head. Our eagle have closed feather at the end of their wings... :)

I enjoyed the Golden eagles hunting wolves, but not suprised at their aggresivness.  Have seen them up close as with the Bald eagles in the same area and most Bald eagles avoid the Golden.

Here are several trail photos of all three birds.

Golden eagles are actually hated in parts of the country because there favorite meal is fawn deer. They can kill them with ease. But a friend of mine watched one kill a coyote out at the firing center so at least they are not prejudice.

I went salmon fishing in Ketchican on my honeymoon(my wife caught all the fish) and saw a bald eagle catch a 40lb king in the bay. It locked on to that sucker and couldn't fly away. It bobbed like a cork until it got close to shore and pulled itself up on the rocks. The skipper sad they catch most of the kings and have to eat their claws free because they are ratcheted like a zip tie!
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
