Take it or leave it but I'd be rattling and calling right now through the end of late archery. Last year I killed my buck on 12/3 and had two mature bucks fighting hard over a doe not 100 yards from where I was taking photos. I walked over and lit them up with my light, which broke up the ruckus. I've had lots of rutting action in December. The lull after the primary rut is always dead, but it does pick up again if you play the biology card. Scent drags in and around high quality preferred food sources (discover by observation) in your area can pull in a buck, as can rattling and bleat calling.
