new small bushnell?
« on: March 01, 2010, 04:53:59 PM »
does anyone have the new trail cam that is super small. i think its a bushnell. if so how are the pics and how is it overall. i have a moultrie and a homebrew but the size of that one is kinda catching my eye. and they are claiming a longer battery life than the moultrie. any feedback would be appreciated

I bought 2 of the trophy cams.  Both of the lense filters came loose in both of them, Cabelas took both back.

Sometime this month they are comming out with a Trophy trail cam that will take up to 16gb sd card. Currently it only takes the 2 gb.

we bought two of the little bushnell cams and they work great
long battery life
super fast trigger speed
lots of options
great pictures
much better than any other camera we've tried

I also have 2 of them.. They are absolutely great in the spring and summer, but in the winter the shut down and are slow if they react at all.. They say there good to -5degrees, but I've found they shut down at about 38degrees.. And fog and moisture in the winter play havoc with the photos.. Long battery life.. I would recommend it for scouting, but for cold weather scouting maybe a different brand would suite you better.  JUST MY  :twocents:

I had a similar experience, but then I read the instruction booklet and it said this is normal...until the camera is turned on they rattle around.  I was ready to take them back until I read that.  Not sure if that was the same issue with yours or not.

I have had both the 2009 model and I just bought a new 2010 model.  The bodies are identical. The 2010 model does take a larger SD card, and the one I have has an 8 megapixel camera vs 5 in the older model. I've tried several different makes, and I must admit that all have had shortcomings.  I do think the Bushnells are about the best camera for under $250.
