Is your trailcam sitting on a post or something, doesn't look like there is a tree around to hang it on.

These pictures were taken in the Blue Mountain foothills, GMU 154. I have four trailcams out that are getting over 2,000 pics per week. I will post more pics later. I already have a few nice bull shots, and as soon as the whitetails are through dropping, I will be concentrating on the bulls.

Someone asked how I mounted the camera with no trees. I took these pics yesterday. the camera is mounted on tow sections of wood that I stacked up. I carried these on my 4-wheeler to the site. You can see a herd of elk watching me check the camera on the distant ridge. I cropped them out of the photo so you can see them better.
This is one of the two bucks I am waiting on. Most of the bucks have lost their antlers

hum i thought one of the last pictures of him was better....IMO i thout he looked very young. Maybe three years. Remember he is in winter fur so he is going to look bigger than what he really is. on the last picture you see him leaning over and bending his neck. ver skinny and slender. Not filled out very much. after a deer had fully rutted a couple time. after his third or fourth year there necks will naturally start to get thicker. Now i am not talking about the rut neck . I am just talking about a much hevier neck. I am also looking at his face. wt usuallly have a slender nose and snout regardless but his is very stubby and short which also tells me that he hasnt grown into his body quite yet. sor tof goes inline with what michelle was saying about older deer having pot bellies and hunched backs. This guy isnt even close....I am not a measuring expert when it comes to horns but i know alot about them and all i have to say is to expect him to either have double eyeguards next year with almost iddentical higth or expect him to be taller with almost identical beam lengths if he doent split he will stay a 4x4 forever. he looks like a splitter though. so you may get a really good set of horns off of him next year or one of the following......
This is all thanks to genetics. i love genetics. i have been learning about his for the last couple years. very interesting...usually want to make sure he has bread a couple times before you shoot something like this, But if he passed infront of me i would take him.......
Recomendation. Feed during the summer and later during the stage of the year that they are growing horns and you might get alot of different things from him....he could potentially be a huge deer. and seeing he is comming into full maturity you might want to think about investing some money and research on some game management stuff to improve your odds and keep him in your area....
Just remember though.....MY 2 CENTS
