I caught a springer a few years back and it had a black wire hanging out of its mouth.  When I opened it up it had a transmitter in it's belly.
Also caught a springer that had 6 of the chips they insert into the smolts head in its belly.  They found them with the wand that they waive over the adult fishes head.

Was it down in the Columbia or was it around here?

I caught a 13" smallie with a 5" storm wild eye jig in it's gut. Still can't figure out how he got it down!

Several years ago while drifting Ringold....back in the days when we still had a Skamania strain of fish...insted of these Metow dinks...I caught a nice 16lb steelhead that looked like it was caught before with someone fishing with piano wire....i said some thing to my friend after we boated it....i tugged on the wire and out popped a University of Idaho radio tag/plug. It said if found....return for a $25.00 reward. I thought it was to good of a trophy to return so it sits in my gun safe....Looks like it was a Snake fish that took a wrong turn.

caught a silver while guiding in SE AK that had the cheese and lettuce from the sandwich that one of my clients threw over the side :dunno:  and a 250# halibut with about a 40" lingcod all coiled up in his stomach, pretty impressive if you ask me

Alder leaves? That is strange.

I knew a guy who caught a big sucker with a "rubber" in it's stomach. :dunno:
