Smoke is telling. Carpenters string line chalk comes in cool high vis colors. But I prefer a small feather on the end on the gun.

I went to REI and bought a big bag of the rock climbing chalk that they use to keep their hands dry when they climb up cliffs.  It stays dry, is cheap, no odor, and doesn't clump up.  Cost a couple of bucks.  Got a squeeze bottle with a collapsible nipple on it and everything's good.
The only difference between a butt kisser and a brown noser is depth perception.

I ran out in mine so I just used baby powder.  I know it has a scent to it but I figured if the animal can smell it they already smelled me.  Works good.  I dont know why I bother though.  It never fails that I hike a half mile out of the way to come into an area down wind.  I get five minutes into the stand only to have the wind change.   :dunno:  Story of my life, but at least Im out in the woods.  :chuckle:

Seems like the wind can change several times during a set. I have even moved in the middle of a set and make a kill within minutes of moving.
