Best Scope Rings?

How about the Burris Signature rings? No more ring marks, without needing to lap the rings. Plus you can change the inserts to help zero the scope or give a  little extra range. I've never seen a scope slip in a set of Signature rings. 

If not the Burris rings, I always go with Warne QR.

i like the burris zee steel 30mm high's i put on my savage. the price was right. at the time thats what mattered.

I also like the Talley LW's, so far... One piece, light, seem to be pretty good rings. I've also had a set of original Talleys on my 257 for years, really like them, but they're heavy...

On a Weaver or Picitany rail on a target rifle.. Talley one piece. On a Weaver or Picitany rail on a hunting rifle.. TSR or Leupold rings.  On a Redfield base, Redfield rings. On a Leupold base, Leupold rings. On a Ruger rifle with integrated base, Ruger rings.  -Not to say that Leupold rings for Ruger are bad, but I've had great success with Ruger rings on Ruger rifles.

That said... For the budget minded, I've had Nikon Buckmaster rings holding my boys rifle/scopes (Nikon) to their respective receivers and they've taken a beating without issue. (no one beats a rifle in the woods more than a kid trying to earn his sea legs)

I don't know that there is a 'Best'. There might be best for a given installation, but I don't think there's a one brand/style/size that fits all.

I will agree that $200 is to much for anyone other than ultra serious, or people with a good income, but I know quite a few people who could not get it through their thick skulls that maybe, just maybe, their $400 scope was not bad, but those $15 rings were not good. I have seen rimfires bust apart cheap rings.
The most I have ever paid is $50 or so, but it is on my hunting rifle and I don't ever want to worry about it. The rings I really like, for lower powered rifles, and are a good cost are the Leupold Rifleman.

there comes a point where you need to have some MOA built into your base. you are not going to get good results with $50 ring and base setup expecting perfect long range results.  my rifle wearing seekins stuff has the base bedded to the rifle and the rings are matched to the base by glen to exact tolerances. not too big of a deal untill you get way out there and run out of correction in your scope.

the talley LW's have everything going for them from a hunting standpoint.....they can't really gt much lighter, you could break half of the fasteners and still be as secure as a leuy or burris setup, there is NO chance of ring to base failure (I have broke a few windage adjustable setups on my lightweight magnums) tolerances are up to dave talley standards. and all that for less then the cost of a dual dovtail setup and way less weight.....a far cry from 200 un less it came with a burris fullfield 3x9

dead nutz on all my guns. and the magnum is bedded in epoxy rock solid.

Just ordered Dednutz for my new .308.  Have had good luck with Weaver, Leupold, Burris.  Never have had a problem specific to the rings.
