You can buy custom wood arrows from http://www.nwarchery.com/

They are not on the east side but should be available by phone and able to make some arrows up and have been creating arrows for a long time.. That is... if you are looking for wood arrows..

mostly looking to shoot with someone who is good on a longbow, I am pretty handy on my recurve, but for some reason I just can't get there with my longbows.

You should visit this forum. I know guys are from different parts of the state and the TBW does have events on the east side where you can meet folks. In April it looks like there is a shoot in Moses Lake scheduled.

The Moses Lake Traditional Shoot (a.k.a., The Rock Shoot) is April 16-18. It would be a very good place to spend the weekend asking quesitons and shooting alongside some longbow archers.

And the aforementioned club with a contact near Medical Lake is the Wash-Ida Bowmen. Jack Dolan is the man to get ahold of there. He and others from the Wash-Ida Bowmen will be at the Rock Shoot.
I'd just like to remind everybody that it's about the hunting, not just the killing. In other words, it's about the total experience, the sport itself and the challenge involved. Bowhunting, done right, is a justifiable and honorable pursuit. Done for the wrong reasons, simply chalking up kills and seeking personal glory, it's taking away rather than giving back to a principled way of life that has to be experienced to be understood.
