just like other's. this guy paid. and hasnt gotten his caller nov 19th. this post is today. Rick

I read alot of good things about the minaska callers so I
ordered the ultimate one from their old website on nov. 19th.
They gave me my order no and it said thanks for the order. The
day after thanksgiving I called and got ahold of someone there
and he said they were alittle behind and that they would ship
out next week. Since then I can't get ahold of nobody thru e-mail
or phone numbers on their new website. I checked my credit card
bill and it was taken out of my account on Nov. 19th. Does
anyone know what is going on there? I've lost half my calling
season already and don't know what else to do. Please help.

Thing is I have to get it from cabelas cause I have gift certificates. I have $200 so the spitfire is in my price range. Plus it will be my first e-caller.

Bear how much are the additional sounds?

I understand that there were some bugs in the Spitfire when it came out, but have been worked out.  Order directly from Foxpro so your sure not to get an old stock.

AWS

Great advice... I'll definitely do that!

The first ones out had a ( cold weather) issue with the remote .
call foxpro and ask Joe or Jared if the problem is fixed as far as i know they have been fixed .

I don't have any experience with FoxPro products, but I'm going to order a Spitfire this weekend... unless someone can talk me out of it.  :dunno:

Straight, I am in the same boat as you, but I have asked and some very good people have shown me some of the different calls out there on the market. Showed me some of the pros and cons on them. It is a big investment check out some fo the other calls also.

Right now I am at around 85% leaning towards a Minaska bandit  --- http://www.king-cart.com/cgi-bin/cart.cgi?store=apc&product_name=M1+Mini

I got to hear one yesterday and I am impressed.

Thanks.  The Bandit is definitely worth taking a look at.

Cabelas has the Scorpion on sale, but the reviews are a little discouraging.

Just got off of the phone with Jared (he's a cool dude).  He explained the cold-weather issues with the early remote, but assured me that the problem has been resolved with the new-programmed remote.  I'm going to order directly from FoxPro, so I don't chance getting the earlier remote from a vendor.

Re: From the horses mouth =Great service as always
« Reply #27 on: December 31, 2009, 07:58:35 AM »
To All,

First, I want to apologize for anyone who has had a Spitfire with issues. Customer service always has been, and always be of the utmost importance to us. Our ultimate goal is to hope that you never have to experience it, but that will not always be the case, as demonstrated with the issues that some are having with their Spitfires. We have already taken internal measures to protect against this in the future, and there are more changes to come. I hope that nothing likes this ever happens again.

Now, here is the Revision 4 update:

A Revision 4 software change has been implemented to address the issue of possible unreliable operation at low temperatures. The problem, if present, usually shows as the Spitfre playing the wrong sound at lower temperatures, but correct operation is then restored when operated at more moderate temperatures. Other remote control anomalies are also possible if a particular unit is affected. To check the software revision number of your Spitfire, observe the bottom line on the display of the TX24 transmitter as it is powered up. The display will show "TX24 V:X", with "X" representing the revision number. The latest revision number is 4. If your revision number is other than 4, and you have experienced the unit appearing to play the wrong sound at cold temperatures, please return the Spitfire to us for reprogramming. Even if your unit with a revision number of less than 4 does not show this issue, you may return it to us for reprogramming if you wish. In order to offset your return shipping cost, we will offer you a free 16 sound pack, along with an upload cable for reprogramming the transmitter sound list. You will be responsible for a card reader to exchange the sounds on the Spitfire memory card. We will return your Spitfire at our expense. Since this offer has no time limit, you may wish to use your Spitfire this season, and return it later for reprogramming. Remember that if your transmitter shows V:4, you have the latest software.
If you have already had your Spitfire updated, we will also make the same offer to you. Simply contact our customer service team, and they will get you taken care of.
Or, you can just simply send your unit to the following address, along with a note stating that you want your Spitfire updated:

FOXPRO Inc.
14 Fox Hollow Drive
Lewistown, PA 17044

Be sure to include a UPS return shipping address, and a list of the 16 sounds that you want. Also, provide us with an email address that we can email your sound pack to.

Again, we apologize for the problem, but as always, we will remain dedicated to providing you the best customer service possible.

Mike Dillon
