How's the ice?
« on: January 21, 2008, 05:05:51 PM »
Does anyone know if Rose Lake is fishable?Chelan County
Has anyone ever ice fished Evergreen in Grant County?
With hunting season coming to an end I need to get fishing.
I don't have the use of a boat (can't see the trailers wheels because of the snow) right now but it's too small for anything except fishing near shore. 10 foot Livingston.
I've never been so ready (attitude wise) for fishing season.

Thanks Duckfvr I was thinking of hitting Winchester by the spillway for perch and have never heard of anyone fishing Evergreen. I have a 4 day weekend and if the ducks don't fly try fishing. Rose lake has taken a few fisherman and poor kids just walking the ice.

I wear a life jacket and carry two large handle screw driver ground to a point about 2" long to pull my fat butt out. That's when I cross ice while hunting. I know most the water dept from fishing.I've even worn a float tube.
Yep, waders, life jacket, and float tube, I'm one sexy devil. I can tell I'm getting Ice Man aroused.
Haven't ice fished since I quit drinking. Perhaps I should give this more thought.

I'm with you Sisu, you can't pay me enough to go out on the Ice. I, in short...am a big chicken *censored*!!. Even when I lived in South Dakota I would not do it. Once the ice got to about 4" - 5" some of my friends would drive there trucks out there and pull little shacks with all there crap inside. I thought (still think) they were nuts. So I asked one of them "What do you do if your truck starts going thru the ice?" to which my friend replied "I step back a bit and watch."  8)

I think the sounds of the ice shifting is what makes me nervous.  A grinding noise, some whale like sounds and I would need to do some laundry.  :o No hair I guess. :dunno:
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or destroy it, piss on it and walk away!

It's this way ( i think ) it's like trying to out run the bear, you just got to be faster then your now departed buddy.
You look for an old lard butt like tank and follow him around.
One more week and it's all fishing  :IBCOOL:
except for income tax :bash:
Hope to meet some of you thru the summer that fishes the pot holes, O'Sullivan area.Worked all my life now it's time to fart around.
