I'm assuming your talking about the skykomish area Jack pass. I hunted up there a couple times when I use to live in gold bar. I've seen some huge deer tracks and some serious buck rubs in places but never seen a deer. I spent most of my time around there bear hunting though. And there is definetly some steep ground up there!

I met a guy around Jack pass while I was bear hunting there in august of 08 and he had seen 2 large bucks (a 3x3 and a monster 4x4) hanging out in a clearcut by lake bertha. I hunted around that clearcut for bear and seen some seriously large deer tracks too but never did come across the deer that was making them.

i have always wanted to get back up there. i really like the area, and the old logging rods i hunted were full of sign. never did see any clearcuts in the area i was at. i was only up there one day/night and half the next day and mainly hunted out of camp.
i talked to a few guys up there though and the bucks they see up there are always big. though success was not to good.

too thick and steep for human entry.

The lack of recent logging has made it tough to hunt the area now especially with it being part of the Wild Sky wilderness. Deer are on the decline in the area I believe. I am sure there are a few deer there but alot of people hunt it that have cabins up the North fork of the Sky since Jacks pass is their only access to their cabins now.

I know that area has some bear in it but the deer are few and far in between. The brush is too thick and noisy.
