Back from the contest.
« on: January 12, 2010, 04:17:18 PM »
Just got back from the contest in Burns this weekend.  Was a little tough going seeing how we did not know the area all that well.  After the first day we only had one coyote but was only one back of third place.  Was the first contest i have ever done and i think it may be the last.  Two guys strickling calling on public ground competing against guys baiting on 20,000 acres of private does nothing but spell a loss for the callers.  We did have fun, but how can a guy compete with that.  I will stick to calling for fun rather then prizes and money.

for fun is always the best. like me and bowfishing love it but when money gets involved it tends to bring out the bad in some people. there are some great tournys but i stay away from them just for that reason.

Was not able to pheasant hunt some private ground in Colorado this weekend because they had it tied up for a dog contest. I guess the prize money was up around $10k. That would probably bring out the worst in some!
Shut up and Hunt!
