passing it on....Trail Cam fun...
« on: January 19, 2010, 08:29:23 AM »
From my mom:
Got this from my cousin.  She was so impressed with the pictures I sent to her and Ron with your critter cam that she went out and bought one like yours.

Dear Linda,

I ordered the camera and got it the other day and now I have no time to do anything else around here - this is sooooooo much fun!   I can't believe the detail in the pictures, and one of the very fun things is to see how many times in a night the deer come back for the corn.  Thank you so much for telling me about this.  We've talked about it before, but I had no idea what to get or where to start.  So after seeing your sons pictures, I knew this was the right camera!  Our snow is melting, so I'm glad I got some pictures before it was gone.
Okay, here are the first critter cam shots.  Alas,  the camera was too close.  But the trees further away wouldn't give me the area to hit.  I'll have to work with that.

I thought it wasn't too bad for my first few tries.  I have put that thing on so many trees, taken pictures of myself each time, taken the memory card back up to the house to put it into the computer to see what I was getting - whew!  This is some work!   I may have to get a wooden fence post and dig a hole to sink it in at just the right distance and angle, if I can't find a tree that'll work. (yeah, that was a funny - our ground is pure shale and holes are pretty tough to dig!)

Anyway, tonight it is on yet another tree, so we'll see what happens.  My neighbor gets a kick out of me going out every morning to get the memory card to see what I "captured"!

Take care,
