« on: January 16, 2010, 08:41:19 PM »
Well it was a great day on the water. Few boats around. everyone spread out. just started Trolling around and it was reall slow. started around 10 and left around 3. Not a lot of bites in other boats didnt seem. ended up with a big one. 13 lbs. enjoy.

It was really dead when we were there two weeks ago. We got one fish about 8lbs and I lost a bigger one that probably would have went 10+.

The *censored*s that refuse to follow the rules have really put a damper on that fishery. Fuggers either release fish after fish hooked on bait or just flat out fill there coolers with fish. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( The indian wardens do a good job patrolling the area but can't get them all.

We chased a couple Russians up and down the river after watching them keep about a dozen fish one day last year. The cell service down there sucks and we never could get a warden on the line. :bash:

Very nice fish!  Picked him on the troll?  Thats going to be some good BBQ right there.  Those footballs are so fat its that or smoking them I have found.

My experience up there is kind of old like 4 or 5 years ago when I lived in that neck of the woods.  But this time of year I found the best two ways when its cold is drifting a fly at the edge of drops and or running a small shrimp under a slip bobber.

Still remember fishing those buggers in Jan and Feb with a bobber, having to blow on the eyes to melt the ice to real in.  Was easier with the fly rod kept the line moving enough to not freeze up.
