Trijicon ACOG scopes. . .6X???
« on: January 17, 2010, 10:43:08 PM »
I see the Trijicon ACOG scopes available in the 4x32 all the time, but I recently saw an article with a 6x48 ACOG. . .I haven't seen this scope available anywhere though. . .anyone seen it or know a shop that's carrying it?

Need to find a scope for my 6.8 Rem SPC AR that I'm putting together.

Thanks!

Never mind. . .I just checked out the prices and didn't realize that they wanted $2500 for their scopes. . .and I see that Rainier Arms has them for about $1000 less than what Trijicon advertises them for

. . .there is NO way that scope is worth $2500!!!! I don't care what ANYONE says. . .I can buy very high-end Leupold's for less than that!!! That price is just plain RIDICULOUS!!! Even the $1600 that Rainier Arms is offering them at is too much in my opinion. . .

So now I'm open to suggestions for a scope for a 6.8 Rem SPC chambered AR that will be used for coyote, bobcat, cougar, and deer. . .

Thanks again.

The Acog is more designed for combat applications than hunting in my  :twocents:.

I always say you can't go wrong with a Luepy vxIII.  I prefer the target ret on my guns and if you know how to or learn to use the mil dot its a very effective scope.

I would agree with you 100%. . .I was just looking for a more compact scope that fit the character of the AR. . .but for that kinda money I will be more than happy to stick with a more traditional scope!

Thanks for the suggestion. . .right now I have a Burris Fullfield II (4.5-14x) on my Weatherby Vanguard in .22-250 that I am SUPER happy with. . .with that combination I was able to shoot a .392" 3-shot group at 100 yards and a 1.9375" 5-shot group @ 200 yards using "cheap" Winchester USA 45 gr. JHP's. . .not too shabby!!! Especially considering it's the "cheap" Vanguard, the action isn't bedded, the barrel isn't free floated, and the trigger pull is a little on the heavy side. . .oh and when I was sighting the gun in I hadn't shot a rifle in about 10 years. . .for a $600 rifle/scope combo that's DANG good in my book!!!

I guess I'll have to do some shopping around. . .I thought that since I was looking at a fixed power scope it would be a little cheaper. . .well I may end up getting a variable 3-9x now.
