Wife wants to try coyote hunting
« on: January 22, 2010, 08:29:37 PM »
so I went coyote hunting with my cousin the other day and we didn't call anything in but a hawk, my wife just told me tonight that she wants to give it a try, which to me is just fine because she is my main hunting partner any way, The problem is that I have no idea how to call for predators I'm reading stories in hunting Mag's and such but that doesn't tell me what it's suppose to sound like, does anyone know of any web sites that you can listen to different call's any help would be great
thanks chuck

try- buckingtheodds.com   -or do a youtube search under coyote, you might look at a few videos as most are limited on calling technique
This closet is taken- go find your own

go to the Foxpro site they have a section that sells sounds and plays short snipets of the sound. There are other places too. you might try "Varmitals"
do not worry about trying to sound like some certain animal, be aggressive with the call, imagine a little animal that you are biting kicking and stomping the crap out of and how it screams!!!!! YAR!!!!
Call for a 30-60 second burst mebbe 2 minutes., a couple more bursts and look around a minute and wail-on again. use your tongue for a "too-waaa" sound

Wet your lips and suck on yer knuckle, sqeee sqeeeeee!! its fun, pretend :chuckle: :chuckle: yer Clarence Clemmons wailing on his Sax!! LOL no flute-tooters here,WAIL ON DUDE :P :chuckle: sounds nutty but it'll work!

Those should keep you busy for a while.  BTW your decal will be in the mail tomorrow.  Thanks for the order.  I see some predator decals in your future.   ;)   :chuckle:

Oh crap, I about fell over with that!  Damn you Yar's.  But he is correct, you got to put feeling in it.  I'm an old school mouthcaller and you really do have to put feeling into the call.

Kain,

Thanks for the Randy video. I love watching him. I will have to try that.

What type of decal are you talking about? Is it the same as at the bottom of your replies? If so that is awesome and how do I get one.

Lots of different options.  Or if you have your own ideas I would be happy to try them.
