Silver Velvet, Genetics or what?

I took these pictures a few years back in the Toutle unit.  The one bull had very visible silver velvet.  I haven't seen this before and wondered if anyone else has or if anyone had any input or information on why this might occur.  I thought maybe he was just old and this is how their gray hair shows!   :chuckle:
