MOST ACCURATE 'SPORTING' .22 PISTOL?

Okay, this one will probably set off a world-class debate (argument?  )

What's the most accurate .22-caliber pistol or revolver you've ever fired? 

My first vote would have to go with the Ruger standard semi-auto, but it's a photo finish with the Browning Buckmark, and I'd say coming in a damned close 2nd place on either account would be the Smith & Wesson Model 41.

I got a Ruger at a gun show last summer, and the damn thing is simply phenomenal.  It's a better gun than I am a shooter, for darned sure.

I will second the rugers.  I have three of them and all will exceed my abilities, and they are a blast to shoot.

I will also go with the Rugers.  Absolutely accurate, and reliable.

I have a Ruger Mk III Target that is very accurate.

As an accuracy buff, I have a Ruger MKIII Competition that is fantastically accurate.  With a 2X Leupold mounted on it, 5 shot groups at 60' (longest distance possible at the old Morton Gun Club) off a bench rest using CCI Mini Mags will measure down around .25".  Sometimes a little bigger, sometimes a little smaller.  Its tough measuring center to center when it is one chewed out hole.....

A couple friends and I used to shoot togather there regularly about 3 hours every Thursday evening for many years until one passed away.  When I bought this pistol and brought it out between the 3 of us we had over 20 different types of 22 LR's.  None of us were surprised to see the CCI's shot the best, though all shot well.  None went over 3/4" if I recall correctly.  But the Mini Mags were head and shoulders above all the other manufacturers. 

I've had dozens of 22 pistols over the past 35 years but none have been quite as accurate as this particular pistol.

That's funny, I was going to say Ruger MarkIII, but he said sporting, so I think the Mark III may not count.

Colt Diamondback, Highstandard Supermatic Citation, but i have to admit the Ruger is the best bang for the buck.

ruger mark 2 comp target model, dont know exactly what it will group, but with the scope it will consistantly hit 12ga hulls out at 50 yds..

I will take the buckmark any day, add a tactical solutions barrel and you have one sweet shooting .22.

I bet a friend that I coud hit a 1" target dot with my buckmark before he could with his rifle at about 80yds. i was right. buckmark for me too.

MK II or III with target barrel i have a II with a 10" bull barrel and it drives tacks.

I have three, yes three, Ruger semi-autos. A Standard, a Government Model Stainless and a blued Bull Barrel Target Model. Pick one, any one and then Look Out!

When I bought my first (the Standard), I also bought a thousand rounds of cheap Chinese ammo. It took three outings but I managed to burn it all. I got blisters on both thumbs from loading the magazines

I never had one failure to feed, fire or eject and talk about accuracy!

I have a new Ruger MKIII Hunter and a new Buck Mark "Conture". They both shoot great!! But my favorite is still my old Colt Woodsman. That little pistol is just SWEET!

Ruger MK series is what I shoot in competition. Are they the most accurate? Dunno. But they are sure tough to beat. The only thing not modified on my guns is the barrel... We've set a few in Ransom Rests and shot some very impressive groups @50yds with them. We didn't have a Hammerli, Buckmark, or Smith that could come close to them with the ammo we had on hand. The Buckmark, Smith41, Hammerli, Pardini, Morini, Beretta, Farwinkbaur,TOZx, Colt Woodsman/Diamondback, High Standard, and Volquartsen barrels round out the rest of the herd by shooting the found sweet spot ammo for any one of them to target group sizes that amaze.  What gun shoots the most different brands, velocitiy, lube/wax coating and such the best? In my eyes, the Ruger. The Smith41 was designed to shoot the CCI Standard Velocity Target ammo. It shoots them quite well, along with 'some' other rimfire ammo. But not all. The Hammerli's shoot most Ely Primed ammo well. There are a few companies that offer rimfire conversions for 1911 stylle pistols that are often used in competition, but are also very well suited for 'sporting'/'plinking'. Kimber and Marvel come to mind. I've shot a couple, and they shoot very well. Why did I mention brands of guns, (not models), that are most often refered to as competition versions? Because a quick change of the grips, and many of them become that sporting model or plinker in an instant.
