Got this video at the sportsman show last month and it is the worse one of the big bulls serious i have seen.  The camera guys they hired to film the hunts this year suck! i could have a done a better job. Primos videos have started to go down hill in the last couple years, use to be a very big fan of primos and what they stood up for, don't get me wrong still love there videos and products but i think big corporate has starting to get the best of primos and will is letting the company get away from what really made primos who they are! I still like the videos and will continue to buy them just hope they get better.

For the most part it's a pretty good video.  It's your typical Primos stuff.  They call them in close and you get some pretty good kill shots.  This video is not any different except for a couple of exceptions.  There was definately alot more rifle hunting on this one than in previous years.  In one instance the camera guy did forget to turn the camera on and missed the kill.  But overall it's still a really good video.  They also switched up their bows this year.  Normally their sponsor has been Bear Archery.  But this year they switched to Mathews.  But they are not sponsored by Mathews.  So I don't know what went down behind the scenes.  I will say this.  The Reezen is very quiet on video.  The Monster though sounds a .30-06 going off.  Very, very loud.

I think the videos are getting worse.  they have shot a lot of different bows over the years.  I heard they fired jim horn a few years back too.

Worse mistake they made was to sell out to Bear, it shows, but still they make some of the best video's yet, them switching to Mathews maybe something on the horizon and could possibly releasing ties with Bear. :dunno:

I watched it the other night. I think they have had better videos but its still worth watching if you like elk hunting. I think that Primos videos are leaning more towards being entertaining while still being a hunting video and some of the guys are good at it and some just aren't. I do like the funny stuff and personalities but I buy hunt videos for the elk, calling in close and good hunts with descent critters being killed. Primos still ranks in my top three. The video I am waiting to get is Extreme Bulls 6 that should be out any day now.  nwhunter

I have herd the reason that primos went to mathew bows and dropped bear is that Will and the president of bear had a conflict and Will said seeya. Just what i herd, dont know if its true. If any one knows anything different would like to hear it.

Yeah who knows what goes behind closed doors.  I don't really care to be honest.  I mean companies merge and change sponsors all the time.  I don't know why people get all bent out of shape when this happens.  It's just business.

Will Primos no longer owns the company, he sold out to some tech firm over a year ago and they are already planning on reselling the company again.  I haven't seen this video yet but I thought last years really had gone down hill compared to years prior.  If you notice the newer videos don't have Jim Horn in them, he was let go when they sold the company.

Can you find a source for this.  Such as an article in Forbes or Wall Street.  I'd love to read it.

A quick google search provided these two links:

http://www.mdwfp.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=26119

http://www.svoco.com/OPTHoldingsInc.AnnouncesSaleofAssetsofOptronicsProductsCompanyInc..html
Here's a more recent article talking about the parent company selling off other assets

The only reason I had found out about all of this was due to speaking to Jim Horn at the elk calling seminar with Rocky Jacobson at Wilderness Archery last year.

I personally don't care who owns the company, they still put out great videos. One of the main reasons I was drawn to Primos videos was Will's passion for hunting and the great outdoors. I have not had the best of luck as many of you have had in the woods. But I do find my peace with spending the time out in the woods regardless. So in a way I kinda related to the way Will felt about the outdoors; just he has far more success than I do.  :bash: :bash: But in the last few videos it doesn't seem like he shows that passion as much; almost as if all the corporate BS is catching up with him. Maybe its more about the money/expectations than the hunting now???  :dunno:    :twocents:
