Sheep Herd
« on: February 01, 2008, 10:26:50 PM »
Went for a quick drive after work on Thursday and ran across this herd of rams. Being this close to all those sheep that were not at a feeding station was really cool. This first bunch were just 40-50yds off the road below me and then ran down and up the other side.

After these photos with my point and shoot pentax with a 3x zoom and 5meg. really made me want a real camera for taking some good pics. I think I could of got some really nice ones.
Here's one with my modified zoom (pentax camera through my pentax binocs).
As I drove a bit closer the second one was just walking up the road. He had a bit of a gimp to his stride and seemed really stiff.

Gimpy finally got off the road and started feeding here in the next pic.

And some of the herd browsing on the shrubs and grasses about 75 yds off the road.

Great pics, I am completely with you when it comes to nice cameras, I still just use my mini point and shoot, and kick myself anytime I get a chance to take a great pic.  I'll have to invest one of these day, just low n the list as of now.  Some nice rams there!! Thanks again, Nick
