I haven't tried one, but it's my next purchase for archery stuff.  I was quite surprised this last year to see that probably 80% of the best shooters in the world are using a thumb trigger style release.  I was one of the 20% that shot back tension releases at Worlds, and there must be a reason for that!  Someday I may learn.........

I shoot trad and compound. Was looking at thumb release too this year. I noticed too that the majority of the top shooters use thumb activate releases.
Wonder if it cuts down on "punching" the trigger

I use one ..I love it..it can really help you learn how to shoot...just cuz you get one it will not make you better you need to work at it learn how to shoot with back tension it is hard work and takes time. as for hunting one bad thing is I carry it in my pocket.
for target I use a Back Tension ...SCOTT LONGHORN ..I shoot this the best but I can't pull the lbs for hunting.
Hunting I shoot a STAN SX2
