Cheap Camp Shower

Want a really hot shower after a hard days hunt? Don't want to spend $100+ on the hot showers from Cabela's? Well you might like this one, it's one of my favorite homemade deals. You can spend $100 in Cabela's for a camp shower or you can use a solar powered camp shower (which really isn't very warm) or you can make one for about $32. Go to Home Depot or similar store and buy one of the three gallon metal bug sprayers, (I wish they had 5 gallon metal bug spayers) cut off the long metal handle on the end of the hose attachment. I then use a plastic hose splice and attach one of the sink hose sprayers you find in most kitchens. Then you can put your metal can on the stove, heat your water up piping hot in just a few minutes and have plenty of hot, pressurized, water to shower with. Best thing in elk camp, trust me on that one!!

That sounds like that would work real well. In the past I have just bought a solar power but when I am ready to take a shower I just boil water and put it in the solar shower, that works just as well and is probably cheaper than your setup.

Ah but not presurized
I have used both, and won't leave home without my bug sprayer.
If anyone ever runs across a five gallon metal bug sprayer I'd love to hear about it.

I simply tapped the bottom of a five gallon bucket, installed a barbed hose fitting and added a 3$ camp shower head/hose to the bucket. I tied a kiddie bath thermometer to take the gueass work out of what temperature will be good, and start pouring in the hot water. I have indexed the bucket with a permanent marker, to show 5 minute, 7 minute, 10 minutes shower length. Pull the bucket into the air under a tree, open the valve, and enjoy...Works great, and cheap too!

I'm with you elkholc, I loves them baby wipes. Make a guy feel all new again after a week of hunting.

These are really creative ideas. After a hard week of hunting a shower always rocks. Baby wipes do work in a pinch.

Look in Cabelas as they have the same system he mentioned for sale. Just a metal pump up spray can. Spend the money on a regular Zodi and you will never look back.

Saw this on a travel show once. The host was at a train station/hotel in Kenya and asked where he could take a shower. Right this way Sir, 15 cents or for 25 cents a hot shower? OH? I'll take the hot one.
The Innkeeper then climbs up to the 5 gallon bucket feeding the "shower" and pours some kerosene(?) in it! Lights it and turns the valve on. There's flaming drips coming out with the water!!
The host (Michael Palin of Monty Python fame) passed.

We use the 2 or 4 D cell electric shower Colman has $12-15 on sale maybe $20 (has a shut off so you don't have to run it while soaping up) a crapper tent or a plastic tarp, a wood pallet to stand on and a 5 gallon bucket on the ground with water off the camp stove. Still is a mad dash to the fire at 20 degrees out no matter how hot the water is.
But then again with the diesel pusher I can sleep at 65 degrees and shower at 70 and sleep in a queen sized bed.
