Cooke Canyon 3/14/2010
« on: March 14, 2010, 09:05:44 PM »
Met up with a few forum members at Cooke Canyon today for some bird hunting.
We had a grat time. I missed two birds due to the safty being on. So Dave felt bad for me and gave me a bird that his dog killed. The bird was missed by three diferent people but Pen came out to be a trooper and caught it for us.
Rocky had a simular safty mishap on a few birds to, but on one of the last birds of the day everyone took a shot at it and they gave it to Rocky, sence no one knew really shot it  :chuckle:

On the way out a bird was seen flying in to a small ravine. Tom went in looking for it with Hermy, then i joined in on the search with my dogs. We were about to guve up when i see Hermy out of the corner of my eye and a bird went flying up, I pulled up and shot. All i see was feathers fly and the bird hit the ground. It was my first phesant kill  :IBCOOL:

Over all i think we came out with 9 out of 13 birds. If i am off on the number some one else will correct me.

Thanks guys, we had a great time.

A skull i found and gave to Maxx

My crew at the end of the day.

Buddy and Snickers on the way home.

Looks like a great day  :hunt2:. If you are going to have a safety mishap  :bdid:....having the safety on is the type safety mishap we should all be so responsible to have . Good work folks. Dogs are looking good. What are they charging for roosters over there now?

That was Mike's 3rd time over there with me  :hunter:. This time he bought a pup on the way home. A beautiful male Brittany that Doug's brother had. So the little monster pointed today on a wing we brought home tied to a fishing pole  :fishin: and casted out! :IBCOOL: Only 3 months old! If anyone needs a pup he has two left.
