The Next Calling Champion
« on: March 19, 2010, 10:25:33 PM »
I took this video of my son back in October.  :IBCOOL:  I finally figured out how to get the video off my phone and on here. He was about 2-1/2 years old. So what do you think. Should I enter him in next years competition?

It's not the size of the trophy that make's it a trophy.

That is really cute, him and my 3 year old grandson would make a good team.  He does a pretty good elk call with my vacum cleaner hose

Gregg,
How and where do you compete?  PathfinderJR would definitely be interested in giving it a shot.  He's won a couple of local contests here.

Hey Pathfinder. i competed in the RMEF World Elk Calling Championships in Reno,NV and in Portland. i got into it via bugle magazine that the RMEF puts out bi monthly. they have the World championships every year toward the end of February. when i competed i used all mouth reeds and grunt tubes. for the pee wees and youth they give them 1min to produce cow and calf calls and 1min for Bull bugles. there are 7 judges behind a curtian on stage and they take out the worst score and best score to determine your final score. they start out on a friday with preliminarys and then the main bugling championship is the next day. its a great experience!
