question about reels.
« on: April 09, 2010, 12:55:56 PM »
So my buddy is having a rod built and now wants to get a decent spinning reel....he is looking at the Quantum Energy PTi's ....now I have heard really good things about them but was wondering what size would be good for bass, walleye and the occasional trout.  the 10, 20 or 30 model is what he is questioning...thanx in advance

I think the 20 or 30 size would be good for what he wants to do with it.  Depends on what line size he wants to use.

20 or 30.  If he goes with line bigger than 10 I'd recommend the 30.  i use a Shimano Symmetre 3000FJ for bass with 12lb line.

I have all three. you can try them to see witch one
feels the best on the new rod.  I like the 20  pti Catalyst.
100  yds 8lb. get lots of line on them. a lot more if you
use pro lines
