Bought a fixer upper !!
« on: April 14, 2010, 02:55:07 PM »
Now I am looking for seats if anyone has any ideas, trying to keep the cost down as much as I can but don't want to go "cheap crap" if you know what I mean. Next I plan on mounting a 20 gallon FW tank under the bow I got from an old RV and the 12v pump so I have FW to wash up with !!

Looks like a lot of potential there, Robodad...way to go.

Thanks Josh, Had to go to Idaho to get it but well worth it, it's a 1985 21' Glasply with out a cuddy cabin which is quite rare from what I have seen, most of the 21' footers have a cuddy and hard top and are butt ugly IMO, I found out the top is going to cost me as much as the boat did  :yike: but it will be a nice fishin boat when I'm done !!!

If you are staying with the same style I'd at least get a quote from a local upholstery shop.

I have had good experience getting stuff redone.  New foam and covers if the frames are still decent.

attach rod holders to the seats and put umbrellas in them.  That way I can hold my rod instead of  your umbrella... :chuckle:
the craigslist seats look like a great fit for that boat as long as the dimensions work out.

LOL !!  :chuckle: Great Idea, there will be no holding each others rod in my boat !!  :chuckle: I think I'll just get a top for it that way the rod holders can be used for rods !!

Oh yeah those seats would be perfect since there is really no other place to put gear in the boat except in the sides and that just isn't good enough, Dry boxes with seats is the way to go I think !!

Good question, Lately I have been fishing everywhere the fish arn't so thats a bit of a problem, I am in Port Angeles so I fish the peninsula mostly but have been dragged down to the columbia on occasion, I know the peninsula (Port Angeles & Sequim) fairly well but I bought the boat to fish for walleyes on the Columbia and anything else that bites and I am quite certain I'll go other places as well.

You want to take me to your honey holes ??  :chuckle:
