Report from the blind
« on: April 17, 2010, 06:40:21 AM »
Well after deffening echos from mass amount of toms the last two days.
Day three is starting off extremely slow. We haven't heard a single gobble this morning.
I have messaged a couple buddies from around the NE corner and they are giving me the same report.
What gives? Who shut these birds up?

When I first seen the title of this topic, I thought it was about blind people.

Most people don't understand how hard it is to videotape from a blind.  I have done it with nice equipment and you just can't up and move to better locations, you are commited to the spot you set up.  It takes a lot of patience, but is rewarding when you get a few minutes of real usable footage rather than a few seconds of shaky crap.  Good luck filling the rest of your tags.

Nice going Pa Ben!!  We hunted South Stevens County and ended up with 2 Toms with shotguns, and 1 miss and 1 hit but escaped Tom with bows.   :bash:

In general it seemed like there were more birds than last year.

Good luck to everyone still out there or going out this year.

Wish fish and game would listen to me and turn Stevens county into archery only ;)
...
Update from the blind.

Got on some birds on the roost this morning but hens pulled them the Other way.
Spooked a whole flock hiking into the blind this afternoon, wish we had headed out a few mins sooner.
On a positive note, our camera man Nick got his first bow kill off a High ridge afternoon hunt the other evening (pics to follow soon).
I'm in the blind right now hoping the birds I spooked off may come back through before dark.. Fingers crossed.
