looks pretty darn good, and even if it didn't, the name is a killer
Have you ever tried a pretty boy, they are pretty effective too.

I tried that decoy today for the first time. I called in two Jake's at 11:25 am. These are the first birds I have got to where I could shoot one so I did. The second tag will be for a long beard. The Jake's came in completely silent until they saw the decoy, then a couple of putts. They were staying clear from it and walked by at 12 steps. I suspension they were frightened of a mature bird. I suspect that decoy would be better earlier in the season or at first light.
I had that decoy in storage, I had forgotten about it, until I read your post. I bought it out of season at I think Wallmart, for less than $10.00. I wish I had used it earlier, maybe the mature birds wouldn't have hung up with hens at 100 yards.
I used my Thompson Center, New Englander, with improved cylinder choke. I had never shot a bird with that gun plus I hear jake wing bones make better calls than mature gobblers. I used last years gobblers wingbone and a box call. I was within 200 yards of where I shot last years bird.
I loaded with 90 grain of ff and by volume 100 grain of #6 shot, magnum CCI caps. If it hadn't been raining lightly I would have used the flintlock.

The big toms come right in, you're right about the jakes. I had one run in and run right out after seeing it.
