Washington Turkey 2010
« on: May 13, 2010, 06:49:29 AM »
As many of you know I flew back home to spend some time with my grandpa, while I was sitting with him, he said he wanted wild turkey, not sure if he wanted a drink or actual bird, so I got him a bird. I shot this bird by Loon Lake with his old 870 Wingmaster, it was the same gun I used to shoot my first turkey back in 2001. The gun is only chambered for 2 3/4. I was hunting a piece of land that my brother said hold some turkeys, I went up by my self after I had dinner with my grandma. I had only been in my psot for 30 minutes and this one and 2 others came in. I took the biggest one and it was about a 30 to 40 yard shot, didn't pace it off. Sorry about the pics, I used my cell phone and I was by myself. The spurs are 1 inch on both legs. The beard is almost 10 inches. It is by far the biggest turkey I have ever shot. I have already filled out the harvest report so that I don't get a 10 dollar fine. My grandpa was happy, I showed him the next day and told him the whole story.

Here are the pics::
