Nice mess of Crappie
« on: May 16, 2010, 11:14:36 AM »
A friend of mine goes done and stays at Brownlee Reservoir down by Baker City, OR every year in the month of May.
He always brags how good the crappie fishing is down there so I decided to check it out. Drove down for 2 days of fishing.

Caught a lot of crappies, smallmouth bass. Caught close to 100 crappies a day in 4-5 hours of fishing. Beautiful area and a very good fishery.

Attaching some pics .

Fishing was very good. I saw one couple in a boat catch crappies on every cast for over an hour.
they must have caught close to 200 fish.

Good catfishing area too. Did not have time to try for them

Saw a lot of carp spawning in the shallows. Wish I had my bow.

We just got back from there, and caught over 100 crappie, and a few big catfish. It was a blast, but a long drive from Puyallup. I will try and post some pictures of the catfish and crappie. Next time I think we are going to try catfishing a bit more than crappie fishing, as we saw one that was 27Lbs caught. It was pretty big.....
