That is awesome Mark!  I have a red Toyota, but it's not maroon... :bash: :bash:  I KNEW I was doing something wrong...

OK, I switched trucks.  I got a maroon one, but it's not a Toyota.  Did I screw up...? :dunno:
Right place right time-and post the pics :chuckle:

Nope.  It's gotta be the truck.  We'll see what happens this fall... ;)

Ha, Ya sure!

I can tell you where they are, but it is still long odds to see a spike, let alone shoot one.

I think H20hunter said something about lot's of elk being up at C-post when we were having our Hunt-Wa members meeting at Hawkeye's a few months back.  Of course it could have been said because there was alcohol there too.

Didn't they all migrate to the Blues?

Yep the Colockum elk all either migrated to the Observatory or the blues. Lots and lots of big elk in the blues.

I saw a few north of I-90 under some windmills near vantage and a few more in Cle elum. They looked like easy pickings. Good luck!

Those were the elk that Colockumelk was just talking about.  They set out for the Blues because Colockumelk has been posting flyers all over the Colockum advertizing it as "The Panama City" of Spring Break destinations for Elk.  The elk you saw by the windmills were all college elk, out on their spring break.
You may have noticed that the elk you saw were all pointed back towards the Colockum, a bit wild-eyed and looking somewhat hung over.  When they got to the Blues, Bigfoot invited them in, and started plying them with drinks (a mixture of fermented alphafa and Jagermeister) and when they started passing out BF started eating them like popcorn.  The poor elk woke up in something that looked to them like a scene from SAW.  The ones that you witnessed near Vantage were the elk that made it out while BF was taking a dump...
Don't worry though... the few hundred that BF ate are only a small portion of the tens of thousands that still exist in the Colockum.  And none of the big bulls were on the trip.  Like I said; college-age elk, mostly raghorns and a lot of 1 1/2 to 3 year old cows.  I wouldn't let this incident keep me from putting in for tags in the Colockum this year...

:yeah:  X's 2.  The propaganda Colockum Elk spits is just that, propaganda.  There are no elk in the Observatory or the Blues.  The best pickings in the State is the Colockum where all the big bulls live because they survived by the protection and propaganda spit by the CCC. :bash:  Don't be fooled. :bdid:

Yup.  Don't forget folks...spring break is a dangerous time...
If you have elk in college, make sure you have a talk with them about spring break and the dangers of spending it in the Blues.  Gangs of BFs have made the place really dangerous.  It's not like it was when we were kids and spent time there.  Drugs are more potent now, fermented alphalfa and Jagermeister are easier to obtain, the place is overrun with predators... :bdid:
