Ontario has a slot limit. Can keep from 12-18". Most walleyes we caught were over that. We caught a doz around 24-25 inches. 4-6 lbs.

Caught quite a few pike over 36 inches. Biggest around 42" I lost a huge one close to 50 " ( around 30lbs)

The Brit Steve broke his new Hardy rod ( $400 Brit quid- $500 American) on a big Pike. He was not happy. Overall he could not stop smiling during the trip. When he saw the bears he wanted to go out and pet them :o. I said probably not a good idea.

Fish count for 6 days was around 400 pike and walleye for 3 guys. A dozen Brook trout. My brother caught a brookie around 25-26 inches. Close to 7-8 lbs.

Ate walleye for lunch and dinner every day. Fried walleye, grilled walleye, stir fried, curried walleye, walleye chowder....

Gotta love it up there.  Great story and pics, always good to have family time.

I have spent a lot of time on the Manitoba and Saskatchewan border and had similar results to yours in Ontario.

Bummer about the bear season, Manitoba is still good for bears in the spring.

Awesome.  Fellow ex-Cheesehead here too.  Consumed mass quantities of Lienies in college.  I love those pictures.  Takes me back to when I was younger fishing pike and walleye in WI.

Have fun. Look for weed beds in 6-12 ft of water for the pike and wallaeyes. Walleyes love weed beds up there. Jigs, golden rapalas and  my secret lure I used last day to win the most fish tournament

sshhh!

Don't forget to fish drop-offs by rocky points. Pick up walleyes and big pike.

Have fun

Brother caught a big brookie on Fly.

The brook trout spend the winter in the lake and then make their way out to the Albany River system.
