Has anyone heard of a husquanarna (cant spell) like the chain saw i have one in 270 but dont know much about it.i know it was made in sweden on the husquavarna river its a .270 feather weight hunting rifle.If anyone knows about them it would be great.. r they good guns?/value/history?

All i know is that it is a very basic rifle made in europe comparable to the eraly Winchester model 70's. Need more info on the Rifle, a picture would be great....Might possably be a mid 50's to even mid 40's rifle.....very nice.

probably about a 450 dollar rifle.......give or take 100 for quality

Husqvarna rifles from what I can find were made on Mauser 98 actions.
I hunted with a guy that had one in the late 50s early 60s.
Do a Google search you maybe able to find more.

I have no personal experience w/ them. However, the father of a good friend of mine speaks highly of the actions.  He's built a couple custom guns on the Husq action.  He's also a pre 65 model 70 advocate so I'm guessing that's where his fondness comes from.

the model is a  husky h 5000 .270 winchester,it says tradewinds inc. Tacoma washington on the barrel and have been told that's who imported it but i think they are out of business.(my camera broke sorry)

thank you guys so much, jackelope found it on gunbroker its the same one i have. they are really cool guns, really light and i have been told by a gunsmith from lake taps that they are pretty desireable guns.they have beach wood stocks and are easy to carry on long hikes cause they are so light but kick like a mule 5 or 6 shots and I'm all black and blue.lol...

I have two of these Husqvarna guns, bought in 1972 from Tradewinds in Tacoma, one is 30-06 other is 7mm mag, they shoot as good as any gun I have.

I bought a Husquavarna in .270 from the Gunatorium in the Spokane Valley when I was back in high school in 1988.  It was the first gun I ever bought.  Hunted with it until 2005 when I sold it to a buddy and bought a Rem. 700 in .270.  Great little gun, lightweight (I was only about 120 lbs in high school) and accurate.  4th shot was usually a flier but otherwise shot good groups.  Basically a Mauser-type action.  Mine had a short barrel.  I found a picture of a buck I shot with it in 1989. I have one these in 30-06 also. I bought it in the seventies and it is an excellent shooter. Much lighter than my Remington 7mm ultra mag.

I had one too that I bought in the late 70's from Chet  Paulson in Tacoma.  Mine was an Imperial Lightweight with a 20 inch barrel in .30-06.  I believe the gun and scope was around seven pounds.  A rifle this light has a pretty fair kick but when shooting at game I hardly noticed.  I took my first elk with it.   I finally sold it in 1990 to help pay for a divorce.  Still wish I had it today.

Husqvarna's were based on the 98 Mauser action and are one of the most desirable lightweight actions made.  A very finely machined and smooth action. Tradewinds was the US importer based in Tacoma.

They're nice guns. Like others said, it's basically a Mauser 98 that was imported and sold under private labels through other distributors. Similar to Marlin 22s being marked as JC Higgins, or all of the High Standard 22s sold under different names.

I love some of those older private labeled guns. I had a Western Auto Revelation 22 revolver (High Standard Double Nine) that was stolen while on loan to a friend. I'll probably never find another one of those.
