If it was easy I wouldn't enjoy it as much.Finding sign or getting a 2 second look at a bear before it takes off makes my hunt a success for that day even without filling a tag.Good luck to everyone this fall.

I could not agree more! Going to scratch that itch by practicing what I have learned and by refining my amature skills. My weapon of choice will be a camera and a back up just in case things go badly. To much fun just getting out and looking to stop now...:)

Its funny I have 2 or 3 bear hunts going on this year...I am going on one in unfamiliar territory...the other two places are simply areas where I have seen bears and their sign and cannot seem to stop trying to find these critters.  Went out yesterday got poured rain and thundered on making my enjoyable walk damp and less enjoyable........ I saw a bunch of sign of new fawns in an area where I found bear sign but they have now logged the crap out of nearby areas will be interesting to see what this does......for now the game trails all still look like they are being used a lot....

This will be my first year hunting bear, i've gotten lucky and seen 4 already and i'm hooked. The adrenaline rush when you get close or even when you find sign is incredible. I'm determined to get on em. Had my cam out since sunday in the area with all the peel looking forward to checking it thursday evening. you gotta get out there to make it happen.
~  ~One of my favorite clothing patterns is camouflage. Because when you're in the woods it makes you blend in. But when you're not it does just the opposite. It's like "hey, there's an *censored*."”

Be come one with Nature......... Then Marinade it.

One moment you're flying south for the winter, then - BANG - gravy.

My day went well, I watched 4 very shootable bucks feed right where that sow bear charged at me with her two cubs. I also saw several other bucks with only one being a spike. A few  bull elk close to me so how could it not be a great day. I did hear someone shoot 8 times about a half mile from me between 4:00 and 4:10 in the afternoon. These shots were spaced out in intervals and I was wondering if they actually hit something.

Good luck with your vehicle repair and photography.

My only issue is this is possibly a mama and her kids its the same spot I ran into the baby bear last year and never did see the mama........again have heard there is a mama with 2 cubs in the area.....this is also why I keep hunting so I dont end up on the menu  :chuckle: :chuckle:

but it is a really cool spot lots of grouse, and lots of deer.....saw a bunch of itty bitty tiny fawn tracks they were so cute should start seeing the mama's and babies soon....

Saw a baby white tail get semi caught in a fence (I guess it does happen) and the momma took a spill on the road trying to get away...both ended up no worse for wear.

You can bet I wont be giving up...
August is only a few weeks away!
