Just curious if any of you guys who spend time in and around unit 224 see many whitetail deer ?  Was looking over the regs and with any buck legal, was wondering just how many whities are around there.  We normally hunt 121 for whities, but maybe we change our plan this year.   Any help is appreciated.

There's probably a couple whitetails here and there but the reason for any buck is they want to maintain that as a quality mule deer unit and keep the whitetails to a minimum. Kinda the same theory as the any elk areas like the Alpine unit and the entiat/swakane areas.

I have hunted there the past 3 years and have yet to see a whitetail buck. See several whtetail does every year, but yet to see a buck. It is mainly a muley area. Not much of whitey looking terrain aside from the farmlands and valley bottoms, but all of that is mainly private property with no hunting signs everywhere. And of course that is where A LOT of deer hang out, there not stupid!!
