looks pretty flat where you shot that bad boy

If you get some weather you should try the ridges up behind the pinnicle park just out of cashmere. I haven't hunted there for quite some time but we saw some hogs up in there years ago. but you need snow. great tag you should do well.

I shot that deer up on Nahahum canyon. It is not all that steep in that area. The deer was up on the top of the ridge and ran down hill. It died about 80 yards from the road. Not a slash pile a blown down old tree :chuckle:

I am going to try my luck at archery in the Swakane this year.  Looking for a place to camp and an area to start in.  I live on the coast so scouting for me is limited.  Any suggestions would be great.

There are some rough roads up there so if there is any snow MAKE SURE TO PUT YOUR CHAINS ON!!  I will be up there again this year. I plan on staying for the whole late season.  If I dont get a buck by the end of the week I will run over to Entiat and shoot a doe. That is the only tag I got drawn for. There is 4 of us that got drawn for the doe tag over there.

Thanks Huntergreg.  Nice buck last year.  I have no issues going in on foot.  That is how I prefer to hunt and major reason I have switched to archery.  Is there access to camp in the area?  I would like to find a spot where I can just walk out of camp and hike around.

Except for the fact that Nahahum and Swakane burnt up this year... I swear all the bucks from that area look the same.. decent mass and they main beams spread out quickly rather than up. Good luck with your hunt.. Ill let you know if I see anything up there If I decide to take a gander

Thanks Ducks55. That would be great.  I am getting few leads and using Googel Maps to look for roads.  Bought a Cabelas Outfitter Xtreme Weather Tent on Monday.  Hopefully I will need it.  I have a week off to hunt/scout.  I plan on covering alot of the GMU and just learning some of.  Thanks again.
