No, I did not. Didn't put in for it though, so I'm not surprised.   :dunno:

I drew it with 4 points. I have it for rifle October 25th to November 7th. Sounds like weather makes a big difference.

i agree with coach on this..
weather isn't a issue for this area, the elk are there it is a matter of other hunters and pressure, for archery permit we can go into umtanum where it is only archery hunters with the permit that can hunt that unit for elk so if elk are pushed hard by others or getting educated buy the guy in his truck hanging the bugle tube out the window screaming on it while driving down the road, we can go there and get away from some of the people, i know manashtash decent but i'll be spending time in there and umtanum to learn all i can before the season.
for us the season is sept 7th to the 19th so i'm already marked on works calanders for that WHOLE TIME OFF  :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:
good luck out there and like others have said just put in your time and give a honest effort and you will get chances at some elk.

Remember when scouting elk to stay in an observing mode , by that i mean try not to educate them any more, glass from the south slopes they will be on the north slope in summer months. my sugestion to the later hunters is learn the roads and study your maps for acess and game retrevile . i gauranty the elk you find now won't be there come november they will be on the move or held up in the thickest blow down crap you can find. I use to due tons of scouting before archery season , but now i just trust the maps and hunt the season hard letting the elk due there own thing in the summer . right before the season if you bump a bull there's a good chance he'll be long gone for a week or so. if elk are bumped from there beding area they will check out for eight days. I'm currious about the horn growth with all the wet weather i'm sure its gonna be killer.
