Anyone headed out on the Upper Columbia tomorrow for the opener?  Hoping to get a report.  Dad and I will be up there over the weekend.

Goodluck

I was at Bonneville fish ladder on Saturday, there were a $hit load of kings and sockeye. Should be a good opener. Don't forget there are areas open for sockeye!

I'm sure there will be about 50 boats below Wanapum. They do pretty good down there on the opener. Beware of the high water though. A lot of logs coming thru Wanapum here soon, very hazardous below the new fish bypass

How do you guys fish them over there? Trolling, anchored up, etc.? Not really looking for any specifics as I don't plan on making that drive. Just curious more than anything.

trolling is very popular. Few guys anchor and do alright, but back trolling is the key. I know some guys who were doing quite well a couple weeks ago at ringold. very well ;)

All trolling for me.  The dams dictate they way you fish and where.  Some days you have to go deep, and some days you are fighting to have a productive back troll.  Tributary water flow and temps also play a big role.

All i will say is that the fishing is very well in the Mid-C. Heard various reports upriver. Sounds like a lot of bluebacks are being caught.

Also got to watch a net guy knock off a 30 lber.  :'(

Fished Brewster pool all day opener on water at 4:20 AM - zippo nothing.. Seen TWO fish about 50 boats out.. i heard the fish checker checked three fish. finished at 7:00 PM.. Hit Wells dam friday morning 3:45 AM launched and let me tell you the water was a running!! real tough there too - did not see a fish landed.. Pulled out at 7:30 AM and there was a guy cleaning two kings i said wow nice - he replied last night after they turned the water off and very lucky... I said i noticed everyone camping hadn't even got in the water this morning. he had told me there must of been 40 boats out opener. There were maybe 25. so the morning opener must not have produced was my guess.. I have heard they are lower wanapum was the place right now.. I'll keep trying up here.. give us a couple weeks and they should be here.. Good luck to all.. someone catch something..
