Ellensburg fishing ?
« on: June 30, 2010, 03:29:00 PM »
I'm heading over there in a few weeks and want to do some fishing . Are there any small lakes or ponds you guy's could recommend i have fly gear and standard poles/gear also i mainly trout fish but like to catch anything really. I have a couple of personal pontoon boats so i can get on the water but if there is anything with decent shore fishing that would be great.

Head on down to the Yakima River! Most guys fly fish it, but an ultralight and a Mepps Aglia, number 1 brass blade works for me.

some of the grant county lakes won't be too far. Kings are running on the Columbia and the smallies are spawning also down there. There are some high mountain lakes above Ellensburg that you can hit if you feel like hiking in a bit.
