New to hunting Washington and new to yotes
« on: July 12, 2010, 02:13:48 PM »
Hey all!

I wanted to introduce myself and say hello.  I have lived in Whatcom county for a few years now but have recently decided to start hunting again.  I grew up in Utah and hunted year round with my dad and brothers.  When I moved up here I couldn't bring much so I left all my gear and guns behind.  I recently went back and brought it all back up...so now I have no more excuses.

I just got myself a yote gun and am looking for anyone who is willing to teach a newbie the ropes.  I have killed a few coyotes but it was because I surprised them not because I called them in.  I am willing to travel where ever and believe that safety is always the most important thing.  I am not looking for a handout just some guidance.  I am a firm believer that hunting requires work and patience.

Thanks and I look forward to meeting anyone and everyone.

:)Welcome! You will like it here and learn things. There are a lot of coyotes down around Concrete but is mostly private. You need permission to hunt.

Excellent!  Thanks for the the warm welcome.  I have already started my property owner networking.  I have a good buddy who has lots of permission on waterfoul property but not sure that will do me any good for dogs.  If anyone is planning on going out in the weekends to come and needs some company let me know.

SHOOST:  Go to WWPHA.com and check out the Western Washington Predator Hunting Association.  They have local meetings (at Cabela's) and can teach you some good stuff.
