Nooksack Elk Trail Cam
« on: July 14, 2010, 07:40:52 PM »
I've been letting my trailcams (I'm addicted so I have 2 now) soak up in the Nooksack area looking for some elk for 50CalJim, Bearhunter, shanevg, and BTKR's brother. My first soak turned up a herd of spikes for shanevg.

I put out some grain and a salt lick for the second soak and the elk got bigger.

I had my second camera in a remote area with ideas of getting pics of the big boys but I had some technical difficulties with it and ended up with no pics for its first soak. :bash:

Looks like a good area.  Trail cameras is an addiction.  Almost as bad as hunting.  Fun to see what is going to show up on your camera.

I consider them average, there are some bigger ones in there, I just haven't had them cross in front of my camera. During the rut the big boys come out of hibernation and you can see them working cows in Hurn field (right off HWY20) and in the fields off of Challenger Rd.

Nice pics!

Two cameras is just the beginning of the addiction :chuckle:

:chuckle:I'm going to stop a 2 for a while, they keep me pretty busy finding new spots and checking them on a weekly basis. I like to put them in places where I can get a good hike in getting to them. This particular camera is only about 100 yds off an open logging road though.
