Burris fullfeild II s. Nikon Coyote Special???

I am new here (see my intro post) and I am about to purchase some new optics for my .223.  I think I have narrowed it down to the Burris Fullfeild II and the Nikon Coyote Special.  I would welcome any outside opinions from people who might have one or the other.

Both are good scopes with excellent glass!!  If your looking for pin-point accuracy, I'd go with the Fullfield or a Nikon Prostaff.  If your looking to hunt with gun, I do like the coyote special!  I've used the coyote special and had it mounted on my Mini-14.  The Mini groups like a shotgun at 150 yds, so I wasn't going for accuracy.  I actually ENJOYED shooting the rifle more so when the Coyote Special was on it.  Getting the scope zeroed can be more difficult since you have a circle and not a cross point.

 :)What ever you need; to hit a 4 inch circle, at the range you will shoot, from an uncomfortable position, everytime.

I have the coyote special in 3-9x40 and I love it. I only have a few others to compare it to but it is by far my best scope. I think its clear and easy relief even zoomed in all the way. And I like the circle setup too, it took me a little bit to get used to seeing a circle vs crosshairs but now I think it makes it a little faster to center on your target. And when I sighted it in I used a shoot n c target that had like a 6in circle, (or maybe 4") and it fit on the 100yd zero circle perfectly at 100yds. So I just lined the two up and was hitting the center bulls consistently. For a perfect pinpoint shot like on a quarter size it might not be the best reticle but for hitting a 'critical mass' area on an animal it works great. I am thinking about getting another one in the 4.5-14x50 when I buy a Savage .243 - but 1st is a new shotgun!

Oh by the way I have mine mounted on my 5.56 S&W MP15 rifle - the scope recticle is calibrated for .223 or 22-250 with 55gr bullet but of course you can adjust zero for different loads.

I myself have and love the Burris Fullfield II. It is an excellent scope with great light transmission.

I have the 4.5-14x40, and I do love the quality of the optics, but like I said, my Mini groups like a shotgun which drives me crazy !!  So the circle makes it a bit easier.  And I hit inside of the circle every time...and about 60% at 200 yds.  I'm afraid to see the group at 300 yds.

PS...Dont get a Mini-14 if your looking for accuracy!!  It'll drive you up the wall.  I've tried 3 differnt mounting systems, 3 difernt scopes and still the same results.

I've heard that quite a bit about the Mini-14 & Mini-30's. I had a Mini 30 about 15+yrs ago and didnt care so much about accuracy then (and didnt know anything about it either! ) I sold it awhile ago - like over 10yrs ago - and was considering getting another one a few months back. But a buddy of mine at work was  saying the accuracy was terrible and talked me out of getting one - so I bought my MP15 instead!   ....No comparison by the way!!
