Bulls & Bucks are always a good start to the season!
« on: July 19, 2010, 12:29:02 PM »
Our first trail cam pictures of the season. 3 good bulls (1-6x6),  :IBCOOL: 1  cow and a nice buck.
We put the camera up on July 3rd and checked it July 17th. Can't wait for Sept and oh yeah I do have a bull tag!  :archery_smiley:

I'm new to this trail cam hunting thing so do you guys know if these animals will continue coming back to this salt lick or will they stop after time? My plan is to hunt this spot but I was just wondering what patterns you have seen out there?

Someone with 4 posts should not be allowed to have a hunting spot this nice that he taunts us with.

After time they might stop coming to salt but if you throw some other sort of food source out, that might keep em coming. I think they hit the salt hard in the spring and early summer and seem to taper off towards fall. If you are hunting that bull in September he might be chasing cows in a different county......or he could be in your lap, who knows?  :twocents:

The camera is a Stealth Cam I590. Its a couple years old but I believe I only paid around $100 and sense we are hunting public land I didn't want to buy an expensive camera. Hopefully this guy will be on next months pictures!

I put out deer cain black magic at my spot and both the elk and deer came to it all year last year.  I also put out apples when I could find them last year but I would have to put them out a couple days before I would hunt or they would be gone by the time I would go down to hunt on the weekends
